What generally happens when you are admitted to the hospital: You are taken to a room, a nurse will ask you a million questions to get you admitted, such as your current meds and medical history. You will most likely have an IV started and be given fluids. You will be treated with whatever medications your doctor orders for you and most likely given respiratory treatments to help ease your breathing and break up any congestion. You may also wear oxygen, if your doctor orders. That is all just general for a patient with respiratory illness. It will all depend on what your doctor orders for you. Don’t be nervous. Us nurses really harmless, just want to help you get better. Hope you’re feeling well soon. PS……No such thing as “walking pneumonia, its just pneumonia.
