What would happen if a vehicle impacted a CATSCLAW system with all brakes locked (skidding)?
Our products are designed with this in mind. The CATSCLAW Mobile and Military systems will move into a natural curve or arc under these circumstances. Each corner of each pad impacts with its neighbor, thus absorbing the shock of the vehicle impact. The radius of the wheels fitted to the vehicle keeps the CATSCLAW systems firmly flat on the ground. The unit is fully functional and fully effective in this state. CATSCLAW Permanent is not affected by a vehicle skidding over it – this system is installed flush with the road surface.
