What would cause the Sun to go down for the last time?
For the Sun to go “down” from our point of view would require the Earth itself to stop spinning. This is not a great idea as the weather patterns that would develop would be rather horrendous due to the fact that the side facing the Sun would get very hot and the one on the darkside would get very cold. This would only make the sun go down for half the world however. Another way would be if the Earth broke free from its orbit and travelled out of our solar system. This would make the Sun get dimmer and dimmer over time until it would be indistinct from the stars in the sky. This would take a very long time and we’d be dead long before this was achieved again due to the lack of Sun heating. Another interpretation would be that the Sun itself no longer resembles the Sun it was. This would happen near the end of its life (where it would expand and puff off alot of its mass). The main problem with this is it’s about ~5 Billion years away and we’d again be roasted due to the enlarging of th
