What would cause parts of the brain to shrink, my brothers had in the occipitual lobe?

this is most likely due to a raging deficiency of omega 3 & 6 fatty acids otherwise known as essential fatty acids, they are very scarce in the SAD (std american diet) this would consist of flax oils, fish oils, fats from meats & nuts and even olive oils, the brain is made up of about 80% fats and must be the right kind of fats, so if there is insufficient protein & fat there will be a loss of tissue in that area and proboly other areas as well. this could also be a result of toxins such as mercury on the brain causing low grade infection and loss of tissue.
