What would cause me to get an error message that reads “Communication S Error” when I try to write tables to the TCS?
The most common cause of this problem is trying to write tables to the Baumannator when the TCS is not powered. In order for the circuitry in the TCS that writes the information to the chip to work it must be powered. If the TCS is properly installed in a vehicle, then power will be provided when the vehicle’s ignition switch is in the run posision. If the TCS is not in a vehicle you will need to power it with an AC or DC adapter. You can purchase the power adapter from us, or make one with parts from Radio Shack. One other common cause for this error is an improperly connected 9 pin cable. The 9 pin cable needs to be connected to the TCS, and the Computer, and be a straight through cable. Some 9 pin cables have pins that are swapped from one end to the other, for example pin three on one end may be pin 5 on the other end. The TCS requires a cable that has the same pinout from end to end. If you are using a USB to 9 pin adapter you may have a problem with the installation automatically
