What would cause an 11 week olds eye to be bloodshot?

It could be caused by a number of things…but I would mention to the pediatrician just in case. There really isn’t a reason for an infant to have a busted blood vessel (or “bloodshot” eye). He could have just scratched it. However it could be something else. My daughter used to get busted vessels in her right eye constantly when she was an infant (her entire eye was blood red at one point because like 3 vessels busted at once)…she ended up being diagnosed with an eye condition. I’m not sure what the medical term is for what she has (I’m not sure they even know LOL) but she has something like a birthmark in her eye. She has to be monitored closely by a pediatric eye specialist that’s 4 hours away from where we live because the birthmark is still “growing” and is in both her eyes. She is at risk of developing cancer because of all the pigmentation in her eyes…they aren’t sure how the busted blood vessels are related to it but that was the reason it was noticed in the beginning. my d
