What would cause air and sputtering in water lines?

0

A failed air volume control valve located at the pressure tank could allow air to escape from the tank and into the water system. The valve may not be bleeding off extra air in the tank. Turn off the power to the well pump and turn on a faucet until all the water and air is gone. Turn off the faucet and turn the power on for the well. If this solves the problem for short time(a week or two)then replace the valve.
