Answer Hi Jean, Cape Farvel (Cape Farewell) was and still is a rather wind swept place. At one point in time (late in the 19th cent) they had a light house there which was maintained until just after WWII along with a radio beacon. As far as I am aware the Danes did not have any one stationed there during the 1700s. Julianhoef, the closest hamlet to the point is a small fishing village and it does have a contigent of Danish Coast Guard there today and the US has a presents there as well ( a Sosus station).
