Of the five council areas represented on CANCO, Craigavon alone provides one third of Northern Ireland’s industrial base, with the largest number of IDB businesses and client companies outside Belfast. The area has attracted 44% of the IDB inward investment over the past 10 years. The recognition by IDB of the area’s attributes would also lend itself to its being a main focus for industry. It currently holds in excess of 200 acres of undeveloped wasteland, as well as over 400 acres which have already been developed for industrial purposes.
