What would be one of the first things a bride would think of when planning her destination wedding?
A. First most where and when. The when is often determined by family members living out of town, work, children or when the bride and groom enjoy the weather at a particular place, when they can take time off, etc. Where is determined by what places a couple has visited in the past together and had significant memory or nostalgia (for instance, where they went on their first trip together or where they go every year for winter break), or perhaps it is a place the bride or grooms family visited as a child. The location may also have nothing to do with family dynamics, it may just be a place the couple really enjoys, or the place the groom proposed. They type of location for our destination weddings is the family home or second home, a cabin or beach house. Or, it may be a specific region, where the couple rents a house or estate and spends the week leading up to the wedding relaxing with friends, and then host the wedding weekend. Q.
