What would be awkward questions to ask Woodrow Wilson when he turns up at the Versailles Peace Treaty?
I would ask him why he was allowing partisan politics jeopardize the American position in the treaty talks. Any treaty would require Senate approval. The Senate was controlled by Republicans. The Republicans asked to be included in the US delegation to the treaty conference, Wilson refused. Largely because of this, the Senate led by Henry Cabot Lodge later blocked ratification of the Treaty and US membership in the League of Nations.
