What would be a good topic for an informative speech?

For an informative speech, it’s always good to do something you already know a lot about or are interested in. However, that won’t really catch the attention. A lot of people tell about dogs or dancing, but standing out is always a really good idea. I for one, once did an informative speech on different theories on why life would have originated on Venus (a lot of people apparently believe that.). My speech wasn’t all that good, but I got a very high mark just for the subject because it was different. Other subjects like that can be different theories on dream interpetation, etc. Something not many people pick. For a persuasive speech, you will just have to go through a list of points of view of a certain political party you agree with. Another idea is though, playing advocate for the devil. Pick something a lot of people will not agree with, and convince them with funny arguments. For example, Money CAN buy you happyness.
