What would be a good title for an Argumentative essay, with the topic being about Gay Marriage?
I’m bisexual, so I’ve thought about the issue a lot. I think that the GLBT community is going to need a lot of help from the hetero community to get gay marriage over the hump, much like the civil rights movement really gained steam when liberal whites began joining up and marching. To me, the duty of those who realize a civil injustice is being done but who aren’t directly affected by it (i.e., heterosexuals in this case) to step up and speak out against is arguably greater than the duty of those who ARE directly affected by the civil injustice. Why? Because in most cases where a civil injustice is being committed, the group against which it’s being committed has been relegated to second class status by the wrongful reasoning used to commit the injustice in the first place, and that wrongful reasoning also has rationalizations in place to justify maintaining the second class status quo.
