What would AICT charge for the BlackBerry service?
A. The hosted BlackBerry Enterprise Server would be centrally funded in terms of hardware and server licensing. However, each BlackBerry device that attaches to it requires its own license – this would be funded by the department that owns the phone, just as they would need to do if they had their own BlackBerry server. Existing BlackBerry devices that are already using a department BlackBerry Enterprise Server would have their licenses transferred to the new server and would not incur additional licensing charges.
