What worries college freshman?
Research suggests that there are four prime academic/career areas of concern for college freshman:* (1) Anxiety: Undecided about a major and confused about the process of career exploration. (2) Lack of confidence: Uncertain about an occupation (3) Self-assessment Questions: Unknown major strengths and weaknesses. (4) Deficits in Occupational Information: Lacking knowledge of work and what workers do. Almost half of all college students change majors. An even higher percentage change career goals while in college. Some trial-and-error choosing in these areas is necessary and helpful.
