What worms can humans contract from animals?
Roundworms, tapeworms and hookworms can be passed to humans by cats or dogs, usually children being the most susceptible. These can be passed from the animal to the human by ingestion if the eggs (rounds and tapes) from infected soil, hands or other objects the pet’s feces has come in contact with. Ingestion of a flea infected with tapeworm larvae is also possible. Hookworms can be passed by direct contact with the larvae from soil that contaminated feces has been in contact with as well.
