What work do helicopters do?
Good helicopter pilots are always in demand and helicopter operators are constantly on the lookout for pilots who can do the flying required by their customer base. At Chinook we will fully prepare you for an exciting pilot career in the helicopter industry and most of our student graduates have embarked on rewarding careers as VFR (Visual Flight Rules) charter pilots. Others have built flight time as IFR (Instrument Flight Rules) co pilots before moving into the VFR charter work. With experience in the charter industry, pilots then have more options open to them and can diversify into IFR offshore and other international work, ambulance, rescue and scheduled airline work. Others career options are middle management administration positions (chief pilots, operations managers etc.) and helicopter flight instruction.
