What words and terms are important for AP Art History students to know?
Students should be familiar with a few hundred terms and concepts in art history. Teachers should provide terms and definitions to students, who should keep a separate glossary of terms at the back of their notebooks with definitions and examples of usage. It is also very helpful for students to link terms of a chapter together. The student workbook and study guides that accompany each textbook provide good starting points for establishing a glossary of terms for each chapter. In addition, the ArtLex Art Dictionary site defines more than 3,500 terms used in general visual culture (many germane to art history), with hyperlinks to supporting images, pronunciation notes, quotations, and cross-references.
