What wool is best suited for spinning into garments?
The fine sheep breeds, such as Merino, Rambioulet, Targhee, Corriedale, etc. are soft to the skin. The meat sheep are best used for batting, because they have more bounce, thus giving more loft. The coarse breeds, such as Karabul, Lincoln, and Cotswold are nice to spin and then to weave for blankets or outerwear.
