2009 Seven Sisters Tennis Championship: Day 1 Bryn Mawr Match Statistics Vassar Match Statistics POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. (March 28, 2009) – The Mount Holyoke College women’s tennis team split a pair of matches on the opening day of the 2009 Seven Sisters Championship. After edging Bryn Mawr College 3-2, the Lyons were downed 5-0 by host Vassar College. In other action, Wellesley picked up 5-0 wins over both Bryn Mawr and Smith College, while Vassar downed Smith 5-0. Wellesley and Vassar will enter the second and final day of the event with matching 2-0 records. Smith and Bryn Mawr will each be seeking to break into the win column for the first time, while Mount Holyoke will be looking to improve upon its 1-1 mark. The five team round robin tournament will conclude with five more matches tomorrow. Mount Holyoke (6-7, 3-4 NEWMAC) is slated to face off against Smith at 9:00 a.m. and Wellesley at noon.
