Almost any router should work as long as it supports Wireless 802.11 B. An issue with the Nintendo DS and DS Lite is that the Nintendo DS does not support WPA/WPA2 wireless encryption. It may be that your wireless router is using this type of encryption so your Nintendo DS cant connect. You have to ether remove encryption completely (not a good idea) or drop the encryption strength to WEP 64/128 bit (recommended). This issue is because the Nintendo DS does not have enough processing power it cannot decode such encryption. In sight of all of this, the new DSi that came out today fixes this issue by sporting improved hardware that lets you connect to wireless networks with WPA/WPA2 encryption. If you are using a Nintendo Wii the issue may still be present although it supports WPA/WPA2 wireless encryption. Still, try lowering the encryption strength and try to connect.
