What will we eat on the Kokoda Track?
When hiking the Kokoda Track, trekkers will have their diets supplemented with fresh local fruit and vegetables. We do this to support local village communities and to improve the quality of our trek diets. Kokoda Trek menus typically include: breakfast cereals, pasta and rice dishes (bolognaise, chicken, tuna, salmon), noodles, vegetables, tropical fruits, biscuits, tea & coffee. As trekking parties need to carry most of their provisions with them – the trek diet is necessarily limited. Trekkers are advised to bring additional food snacks and treats. However, Kokoda Schools Tours pride themselves on quality, fresh food that is a far cry from the freeze dried, de-hydrated rations used by many trekking companies. Please let us know if you have special dietary requirements when booking your kokoda trek as we aim to accommodate any special requirements.
