What will the transmission line look like?

Generally, the transmission lines will be 230 kV overhead lines built using wooden H-Poles. Steel towers may be required in a few locations. The Right Of Way (ROW) will generally be located on Crown Land and will be built to ISO 14001 Standards. The ROW width will be maintained at 40 m where only low brush will be allowed to grow. On either side of the ROW there will be a 40 m strip that will be maintained to have all danger trees (those that have potential to fall on the transmission lines) removed and kept to a minimum height. The transmission ROW will be accessed via an off-road track and/or helicopter. Design criteria, construction plans, and mitigation for stream and other watercourse crossings along the transmission corridor will meet or exceed all standards and codes established by relevant authorities.
