What will the recovery phase be like?
Most patients go home and nap immediately following the surgery so that they can sleep through the most uncomfortable phase of recovery. After 8-12 hours, patients see an improvement in their vision, but report dry eyes and photosensitivity. Doctors advise patients to wear dark glasses when they go outside, to avoid reading or other close-up visual activities, and to take care not to get water in their eyes while showering. Your LASIK surgeon will be able to give you more specific advice.
