What will the power generating facility look like?
The initial design calls for three immersed turbines at the weir. The structure once complete, would have a low profile and could resemble features already present at River Landing. The facility need not be a large unsightly structure as it has the potential of having a deck surface that has huge developmental opportunities. Public input has identified such ideas as linking this facility to the east bank by a walk over bridge, establishing fishing platforms or pelican and wildlife viewing stations. Further public consultations will identify public preference for this area.
