For the base project option the journey time from Portishead, calling at Pill and terminating at Bristol Temple Meads is 17 minutes. This is a very competitive journey time and would transform the commuter experience getting into Bristol on this corridor, leading to a wide range of long term benefits. Calling at other stations adds around 2 to 3 minutes per station. Between Portishead and Pill trains would operate up to 75 mph, between Pill and Bristol train speeds would be up to 60 mph.
