The new library will have space to increase the Adult/Young Adult book holdings by 74% and the Children’s holdings by 68%. Over time, the new library will gradually fill to its capacity of books. The operating budget will add books yearly. In fact, the Board of Library Commissioners requires that a certain percentage of a library’s budget be spent on new books yearly, in order for that library to remain certified.
