What will the background check cover?
The background check will gather the following information: • Verification of educational transcripts • Employment verification for any employment (going back no more than seven years) • Wisconsin Criminal History check • Local Police Records check • Past residence police records check • DOT records check We realize that $100 is a relatively high price to pay for the background check; however, the information gained is a critical part of the law enforcement hiring process. The results of a positive background check will tell potential employers that you are a viable candidate and may expedite the hiring process itself. We encourage those who are accepted in the academy to begin applying to agencies over the course of the program.
