What will Senator Ted Kennedy be best remembered for?
Thanks for posting the question, keithold. I think he will be “best” remembered for his passionate work on civil rights, education and other social programs. Many people are not aware that he was an early and life-long champion of Social Security and Medicare. I am fairly conservative but vote on issues, not down party lines. He was a controversial persona and I often did not agree with his politics and methods, but have great respect for his work. Many here have mentioned the Chapopaquiddick incident and that will forever remain as part of his legacy, but you did not ask about that – you asked what he will “BEST” be remembered for. For those who wish to remember only negative aspects of his life, please consider that he was also a son, a father, a brother, an uncle, and leaves family members who mourn him.
