What will PSIS store and from when?
PSIS will store summary clinical information in both textual and coded form. The coded form will be dm+d for medication and SNOMED CT for clinical information. PSIS will start to be populated from 1 January 2005. The NHS Terminology Service will maintain maps between Read codes and SNOMED CT to allow translation of clinical content in local systems for messaging to PSIS. For audit purposes only, the original code and term that was translated from Read will also be held on PSIS.
