What will my English GCSEs mean in Australia?

0

i have a friend of mine who moved to Australia last year from the UK here in aust we have the equivalent of the GCSE’s called the school certificate which we sit in year 10 (your yr 11 i think) then you are free to go to a private college or TAFE or you may continue another 2 yrs to do the Higher School Certificate (your a-levels, year 13 for you i think). If you apply for a private college/ TAFE you can use your GCSE results as long as you can outline that your A would be the equivalent of an A (Band 6) in the Australian SC. A= Band 6 B= Band 5 C= Band 4 D= Band 3 E= Band 2 F= Band 1 If you choose to sit the HSC you will be able to use your results to apply for university here.
