What will MDH need to do to comply with the national standard?
MDH will be held accountable to the NELAP Board in much the same way that laboratories are held accountable to MDH. NELAP will require MDH to perform assessments of accredited laboratories every two years; new laboratories to the program will have an onsite assessment within 90 days of receiving certification. There will be 30-day turnaround time for assessment reports. MDH must verify the receipt of proficiency testing results received from the approved provider according to set timelines in the national standard.
