What will it take to stop the Japanese from whaling completely ?

The Japanese research whaling is subsidized by their government. It needs the subsidies because its not a commercial harvest. They don’t kill enough whales to make a profit. They take enough to do their research and sell the meat to help recover their costs. What Japan needs is a true commercial whaling industry. The whales they kill are not endangered and the number of whales they take is not enough to harm the population. It’s a sustainable harvest. Donating to the sea shepherd conservation society won’t do anything to end whaling. Anybody who follows their actions will end up supporting the whalers, or the Canadian seal hunters or whoever they are targeting. The International Whaling Commission was not founded to end whaling and their moratorium on whaling was not
