The introduction of the model WHS Bill and model Regulations are not expected to have any affect on any licence or registration that is current at the time the new laws are implemented. That means, you will not need to do anything until it is time to renew your licence or registration. If you currently hold a licence or registration that is due for renewal before 1 January 2012 you will be able to renew based on the current rules and processes used by WorkSafe. If your licence or registration is due for renewal in late December 2011 or soon after 1 January 2012, you should contact on 1300 307 877 or by email (safety@commerce.wa.gov.au) during December 2011 to find out what you need to do to be able to renew it.
