What will it cost to study for a PhD at NEGST?
Study costs (covering all tuition and three mandatory academic trips), amount currently to $12,000 US per year. Personal living expenses are more difficult to summarise. A book allowance of several thousand dollars is also necessary. For a family of four, coming from outside Kenya, living in NEGST housing on campus, we estimate around $9,000-10,000 US depending on children’s education, medical insurance, and so on. Nairobi is not a cheap city to live in, and we do not want students to suffer hardship while studying, or having to interrupt an arduous study programme to raise funds.
