iROX will provide immediate relief to southwest Florida travelers and commuters. The project adds one northbound lane and one southbound lane to a 30-mile stretch of I-75 from Golden Gate Parkway in Collier County to Colonial Boulevard (SR 884) in Lee County. The I-75/Immokalee Road (CR 846) interchange in Collier County also will be reconstructed. How much does iROX cost? The project cost is $430.5 million. The design/build/finance (DBF) team, ACCI/API, could earn $15 million in bonuses for completing the work early. The incentive offered by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is $100,000 for each day finished ahead of schedule (up to five months). iROX management and inspection services amount to $24 million, bringing the total to $469.5 million. How was this contract awarded? FDOT invited more than 200 construction company representatives to an industry meeting in March 2006. The companies were told FDOT wanted to improve 35 miles of I-75 from Golden Gate Parkway in Coll
