What will incorporation do for Sneads Ferry?
A- Incorporation will accomplish a lot of great things for our Village. Here are the highlights: Incorporation will enable Sneads Ferry to receive its equitable share of monies from sales tax, ABC proceeds, gas tax, permit fees, and property tax. Sneads Ferry would become a responsible entity capable of receiving grants and other funds from state, federal, and private sources. Through its own local zoning decisions, Sneads Ferry would be able to better preserve our locally desired lifestyle. Incorporation would forever remove any possibilities of extraterritorial jurisdiction or annexation by nearby towns or cities. Sneads Ferry would have a recognized voice with federal, state, and county legislators/commissioners/agencies and others as well as have representation on boards such as ONWASA. An incorporated Sneads Ferry would have a more forceful voice for protecting the water quality and natural resources of New River. If incorporated, Sneads Ferry would be in a position to rescue some
