What will happen when polar ice caps melt?
There is more information on this subject available than you can shake a stick at. Consider the volume of the ice sheets that are on land. Add this volume to th sea and note how much the average sea level will rise. Now look for all land that is below that level now and consider it will be lost. (remember most of the world’s agriculture is on lowlands and flood plains because that is where the fertile soils are). Now look at temperature. Consider what temperatures are needed for krill etc. – too warm and it dies. Now look at weather systems. More energy = more activity – i.e. more storms, meaning rougher seas with bigger waves, more tornadoes, hurricanes and so on. Heat is energy. So, higher sea levels, rougher seas, more storms, changing habitats that only the most robust life forms can cope with. Will anything remain as we know it? The question is whether it is part of a cycle (lets leave the politics out of it or whether it is natural or man made or man exasperated etc) meaning it w
