What will happen to WERFs existing ongoing projects?
WERF currently has more than 75 ongoing research projects. As challenges are identified in Step 2 of the Program-Directed Research process, WERF staff will match ongoing projects to specific challenges and the background information on each project will be provided to the Exploratory Teams. These projects can then be added, as appropriate, to the research plan for that challenge. Ongoing projects that will deliver value but that are not a match for one of the high-priority challenges will be completed and reported on using their current schedule and using the existing project subcommittee and project manager.
