What will happen to those people whose authorized positions will be lost? Will they be given the option to retire early?
These Airmen will be given the opportunity to either transfer to another base, or retrain into another area of expertise, if available. If no positions are available for which he or she qualifies, separation/retirement action, as applicable would take place. Early retirement is a possible option, but will require enabling legislation.
