What will happen to the road after construction?
It is the desire of Plutonic to negotiate a road use agreement with the Klahoose First Nation that will address the long-term use plan of the rehabilitated Toba River access road. There are two proposals that have been put forward as follows: • That the access road be maintained after construction of the East Toba and Montrose Projects to allow the Klahoose and Plutonic road access into the valley. Plutonic will then use this road for ongoing maintenance and operations of the hydro facilities. Klahoose members have shown some interest in developing Eco-Tourism (Bear Watching, etc) in the valley. Access could still be controlled and limited by gating all the bridges. • To partially decommission the access road after the construction of the East Toba and Montrose Projects, to prevent road access into the valley.
