What will happen to the Mariemont Fire Department?
The Mariemont Fire Department will be abolished. Although the ballot language does not mention this, voters who vote “Yes” will be voting to abolish the Mariemont Fire Department and replace fire and paramedic services with the LMFR. As a result, on December 31, 2009, the MFD will cease to exist: The fire station will be vacated; all personnel will be terminated; and all equipment will be disposed.
