What will happen to the Jericho Health Centre?

The Oxford Local Plan – an Oxford City Council framework for land use in the city until 2016, against which all planning applications must be tested – included provision for relocation of the Jericho Health Centre. In 2006 the Oxfordshire Primary Care Trust and the University reached an agreement whereby a new, purpose-built health centre will be constructed on the site. This will be located at the north-west edge of the site adjacent to the Walton Street shops. Subject to agreement with the Primary Care Trust, a planning application is to be submitted for this building later in 2009. The University will lease the building to the Primary Care Trust for 25 years.
