What will happen to the current JDK projects which are currently licensed under the Java Research License (JRL) on java.net?

Sun will continue the JDK6 and JDK7 projects under the JRL license until an implementation of these specifications can be built from the OpenJDK code commons with unencumbered code. Afterwards we will determine if there is any interest in the community for continuing this project. The J2SE 5.0 source code will not be released under an open-source license, and the “Tiger” Project at https://tiger.dev.java.net will continue to be available, offering this code base under the JRL.
