What will happen to the covered walkway between the student center and Lingreen?

The walkway will be left in place; however the covering will be removed. When originally designed and constructed, the covering derived structural and seismic support from the Lingreen building. When the building is removed the danger of collapse from earthquakes, snow load, wind shear and so forth is dramatically increased and presents a hazard to our faculty, staff and students. We did consult with the architects about the costs required to leave it in place, and ultimately decided not to pursue this option.
