What will happen to parallel ATA?

0

Over many years we expect to see new PCs and other platforms slowly withdraw support for PATA devices. It is expected that early PCs implementing serial ATA will provide support for both parallel and serial ATA. Both PATA and SATA will co-exist for several years. As all hard disk drives, CD drives, and DVD drives migrate to serial ATA, support for parallel ATA will disappear.
