What will happen to “Friday’s After Five” under the proposal for a renovated amphitheater?
There will continue to be a Friday’s After Five type event that will operate in the same basic format as currently operated by the Charlottesville Downtown Foundation. Management of the events however, may be handled by a private entity. The present operator of Fridays, the Charlottesville Downtown Foundation, has proposed charging a nominal fee to ensure that we are able to attract quality entertainment. Under a new arrangement, a fee is also likely to be charged for admission to Fridays.
