What will happen to existing qualifications like BTECs, City&Guilds and OCR Nationals?
A. We are aware that some existing qualifications are well known and valued by learners, teachers and employers. We are firmly committed to keeping the best of what currently exists in the new system. In many cases it will be possible for existing qualifications to be used as part of one of the four national routes – for example within an Apprenticeship framework or as part of Diploma Additional and Specialist Learning (ASL) or as the vocational component of a Progression Pathway in the Foundation Learning Tier.
