What will happen to CES and the old Middle School in Carbondale?
The old Carbondale Elementary School will be torn down. There are no specific plans yet on how the vacant property will be used. The goal is to make good use of this asset in the middle of town. Some possibilities that have been discussed include developing affordable housing for teachers or other local public servants. The old Carbondale Middle School will have the critical physical deficiencies fixed. The academic part of the building will be used for Bridges High School. The west side of the building will be available for possible use by the Carbondale community. There are no specific plans for this yet, and an Inter-governmental Agreement will have to be reached with the town before this happens.
