What will happen if the levy doesn’t pass in November?

There will be three more opportunities in February, May and August to vote on the levy. These will be the community’s only opportunities to participate in the guaranteed funding from the State of Ohio for their portion of the construction costs. After this, the total cost of the replacement of any building(s) will fall solely on taxpayers within the district. Because the earned income tax for operational expenses takes about 18 months to collect, November will be the only opportunity to pursue that funding option. After that, a traditional property tax levy will be pursued for operating expenses. In addition, if the ballot fails in November, additional cuts may have to be made in the operating expenses mentioned above.
